Shaykh Muhammad bin Saalih Al-Uthaymeen (rahimahullaah) said in Majmoo’ Fataawaa wa-Rasaa’il Saalih al-Uthaymeen (2:275):
“The ‘ulamaa’ say that it is prohibited to dress a baby with anything that is prohibited for adults to wear. Garments with images are prohibited for adults to wear; so, it is prohibited for babies to wear them as well. The Muslims should boycott those clothes and shoes (with images) so that the people of evil and corruption would not attack us (Muslims) from this direction.”
Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah) said in Al-Muntaqaa Min Fataawaa Saalih Al-Fowzaan (3:339-340):
“It is not permissible to buy clothes that have images of beings with souls, such as humans, animals, and birds. Making and using images are prohibited because of the numerous hadeeths prohibiting this and strongly warning against it. The Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) cursed those who make images and indicated that they will be severely punished on the Day of Resurrection. Thus it is not allowed to wear a garment with images or make a baby wear it. One should buy clothes that do not have images, which are available in plenty – all praise is due to Allaah.”
